These sturdy enclosures are built from high-quality timber and feature galvanised wire mesh on the sides, to prevent your cat from getting out or predators from getting in. They all have an enclosed house area with a solid asphalt roof, offering a space for your cat to rest or seek shelter from the weather.

Unlike timber enclosures, they are easy to set up, move and store, making them ideal for indoor use or supervised outdoor play in good weather.

Made with strong UV-treated netting reinforced with stainless steel, these enclosures keep your cat safe while allowing fresh air and sunlight to flow through. They are also easy to see into, meaning you can watch your cat play happily without any obstruction.

Both our Manor and Oasis models come with a shade cloth for extra sun protection, ensuring your cat’s safety while they explore.

Easy Assembly

Our cat runs can be assembled yourself at home, without the need for expensive professional assembly services. We provide easy-to-follow instructions and screws.

Our timber enclosures come in panels with the wire mesh attached to the frames. Simply hold the panels into position and screw them together using a battery-powered screwdriver. They come already stained so, unlike other brands, you don’t have to paint them yourself.

Our cat net catios simply require you to clip the metal poles together to make the frame, then add the netting on. No tools needed! Use the provided cable ties to attach the shade cloth onto the top.

What type of cat enclosure do I buy for my cat?

Is it safe to keep my cat outside in a catio?

Yes, as long as the enclosure is escape-proof and gives your cat shelter. Look for strong mesh or netting with no gaps, secure latches, and a covered area for shade and rain. Always leave fresh water out and check on your cat regularly. RSPCA Australia supports keeping cats contained to their owner’s property, including in escape-proof outdoor areas, because it reduces the risk of disease, injury, poisoning and getting lost.

Are cats happy in catios and enclosures?

Yes, most cats thrive in catios as long as the space is large enough for them to feel like they are outside, not confined. If your feline friend seems reluctant to enjoy its enclosure, try placing its favourite treats and toys inside to help create positive associations.

Cats that are introduced to an enclosure early on, especially as kittens, are more likely to enjoy it as they grow.

Can I use chicken wire for a catio?

We don’t recommend it. Chicken wire is thin and can stretch or come loose, so a determined cat may push through it and predators can get in. Use galvanised welded mesh or reinforced cat netting instead. Somerzby timber enclosures use galvanised wire mesh, and our catios use UV-treated netting reinforced with stainless steel.

Where should my cat sleep at night?

Cats like a dry, draught-free spot that’s raised off the ground and feels enclosed. Many Somerzby enclosures include a sheltered house or resting box with a waterproof roof, so just add soft bedding. Check your local council’s rules too, as some areas now require cats to be contained overnight or 24 hours a day.
